What a year it’s been. Through it all, local media has continued to flourish. We’re thankful to be a part of the community and especially grateful to have recently been recognized with the second annual LION Service Award.
Celebrating the best of independent online media across the U.S. and Canada, the 2020 LION Awards were created to recognize excellence in businesses that consistently rank high among publishers for helping with business, editorial, and technology needs. This is the second year in a row that Broadstreet has been chosen for the honor, and we couldn’t be more proud.
Nearly 30 judges evaluated 169 entries from LION members this year — more than double the number of entries from last year. Other Service Award finalists included Web Publisher PRO, TownNews, and RebelMouse.
LION’s team of independent judges noted that Broadstreet was selected, in part, thanks to the quality and effectiveness of our webinar series, along with our commitment to serving lower-budget publishers with the new Broadstreet Solo package.
“I’ve heard from MANY people (too many to count, honestly) about the quality and effectiveness of Broadstreet’s webinar series (and witnessed one of them firsthand). I’ve heard particular praise of the ‘Launch a Hyperlocal’ series. All of these resources have been so well designed and executed, meeting these publishers at their moments of dire need and offering scaleable, replicable, and easy-to-implement inspiration and ideas,” wrote the judges.
Winning an award like this two years in a row is an incredible accomplishment for our entire team, but we’re not getting ahead of ourselves. Going forward, we’ll continue keeping our heads in the game and focusing on our core mission of helping local, independent publishers.
